About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Applications & Systems Engineer to support the deployment and implementation of advanced software solutions for the power and utilities sector. This role is ideal for professionals who understand both power system operations and enterprise software implementation.


You will work closely with engineering, project management, QA, and customer teams to configure, deploy, validate, and support mission-critical software used by electric utilities. The position requires strong technical expertise, customer interaction skills, and the ability to translate operational requirements into practical software solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and implement enterprise software across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

  • Configure software solutions based on customer operational requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, project management, and support teams throughout implementation.

  • Perform software installation, configuration, integration, validation, and go-live activities.

  • Support software upgrades, patch deployments, and release management.

  • Gather and analyse customer functional, operational, and technical requirements.

  • Conduct customer workshops, implementation meetings, and deployment planning sessions.

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), customer onboarding, and end-user training.

  • Troubleshoot deployment, integration, configuration, and data-related issues.

  • Develop implementation documentation, deployment guides, test procedures, and operational handover documents.

  • Contribute to process improvements and implementation best practices.

  • Act as a technical advisor during software implementation projects.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software deployment, implementation, or technical delivery.

  • Experience working with electric utilities, power systems, or grid operations.

  • Strong understanding of utility software platforms such as SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS, WAMS, PMU, or similar technologies.

  • Experience with software configuration, system integration, testing, and production deployments.

  • Ability to translate customer business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with transmission operations, power system monitoring, or grid analytics.

  • Familiarity with IEEE C37.118, IEC 104, DNP3, or ICCP protocols.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, databases, Linux, Windows Server, networking, and cloud environments.

  • Experience with FAT, SAT, UAT, commissioning, or production cutovers.

  • Exposure to regulated or high-security environments will be an advantage.
