As a Financial Analyst, you will be a critical part of the finance team, responsible for providing actionable insights, real-time financial data, and analysis to support decision-making. You will develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reporting systems, including a Financial Management Information System (MIS) that delivers daily updates and highlights performance gaps. Your work will enable the leadership team to make data-driven decisions and optimize financial strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reviews.

    • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support business decisions.

    • Perform variance analysis to explain budget vs. actual results.

    • Provide competitor analysis and benchmarking reports for senior management.

  2. Financial MIS Development:

    • Build and maintain a Financial MIS that provides real-time financial information updated daily.

    • Ensure the MIS highlights any discrepancies, gaps, or variances to provide timely insights to management.

    • Automate data collection processes and reporting formats to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  3. Forecasting and Budgeting:

    • Assist in developing financial forecasts and budgets in collaboration with department heads.

    • Monitor performance against budget targets and provide regular updates on deviations.

    • Support scenario planning to help the organization adapt to changing financial environments.

  4. Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:

    • Analyse cash flow data and provide recommendations for optimizing liquidity.

    • Monitor working capital and ensure financial resources are utilized effectively.

  5. Board Reporting and Presentations:

    • Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for board meetings.

    • Ensure clear, concise, and actionable financial insights are presented to senior leadership.

  6. Data Integrity and Reporting:

    • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data by implementing data quality checks.

    • Oversee the maintenance of financial records and the organization of data in a structured format.

    • Collaborate with the IT and finance teams to improve reporting tools and systems.

  7. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.

    • Help identify potential financial risks and propose strategies to mitigate them.

  8. Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with departments such as operations, sales, and marketing to gather financial inputs and provide relevant analysis.

    • Support cross-functional projects by providing financial insights and analysis as needed.

  9. Real-time Insights and Dashboard Reporting:

    • Build and manage financial dashboards that provide real-time insights for the leadership team.

    • Develop key financial KPIs and ensure these are tracked and reported on an ongoing basis.

  10. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Provide clear and concise financial updates to internal stakeholders.

    • Ensure that financial information is communicated effectively across the organization, especially for non-financial teams.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel and ERP systems.

  • Experience in building or managing Financial MIS systems is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on data accuracy and the ability to spot trends and variances.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
