As a Financial Analyst, you will be a critical part of the finance team, responsible for providing actionable insights, real-time financial data, and analysis to support decision-making. You will develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reporting systems, including a Financial Management Information System (MIS) that delivers daily updates and highlights performance gaps. Your work will enable the leadership team to make data-driven decisions and optimize financial strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
Conduct detailed financial analysis, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reviews.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support business decisions.
Perform variance analysis to explain budget vs. actual results.
Provide competitor analysis and benchmarking reports for senior management.
Financial MIS Development:
Build and maintain a Financial MIS that provides real-time financial information updated daily.
Ensure the MIS highlights any discrepancies, gaps, or variances to provide timely insights to management.
Automate data collection processes and reporting formats to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Forecasting and Budgeting:
Assist in developing financial forecasts and budgets in collaboration with department heads.
Monitor performance against budget targets and provide regular updates on deviations.
Support scenario planning to help the organization adapt to changing financial environments.
Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
Analyse cash flow data and provide recommendations for optimizing liquidity.
Monitor working capital and ensure financial resources are utilized effectively.
Board Reporting and Presentations:
Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for board meetings.
Ensure clear, concise, and actionable financial insights are presented to senior leadership.
Data Integrity and Reporting:
Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data by implementing data quality checks.
Oversee the maintenance of financial records and the organization of data in a structured format.
Collaborate with the IT and finance teams to improve reporting tools and systems.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Help identify potential financial risks and propose strategies to mitigate them.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with departments such as operations, sales, and marketing to gather financial inputs and provide relevant analysis.
Support cross-functional projects by providing financial insights and analysis as needed.
Real-time Insights and Dashboard Reporting:
Build and manage financial dashboards that provide real-time insights for the leadership team.
Develop key financial KPIs and ensure these are tracked and reported on an ongoing basis.
Stakeholder Communication:
Provide clear and concise financial updates to internal stakeholders.
Ensure that financial information is communicated effectively across the organization, especially for non-financial teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel and ERP systems.
Experience in building or managing Financial MIS systems is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills, with a focus on data accuracy and the ability to spot trends and variances.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
